Part 1- 1:00 to 3:00 PM. - $25
Doumbek instruction focusing on Middle Eastern Rhythms. For intermediate and advanced drummers (recommended that players have a minimum of 6 months experience with a doumbek or similar durm and middleeastern rhythms)..

Part 2 - 4:00 to 6:00 PM. - $30
For dancers -Sabah combines her talents with those of Michael Gregian for this dynamic workshop designed to help you enhance your dance skills. Mr. Gregian will teach how to recognize drum rhythms and patterns commonly used by Middle Eastern drummers in a drum solo (maksoum, malfoof, beledi and others). He will construct and explain a drum solo based on these rhythms. Dancers will also be able to learn and practice basic doumbek techniques with Michael. Sabah will present dance combinations to liven up a drum solo. Don't miss this opportunity to expand your horizons in the dance!

Part 3 - 7:00 to 9:30 PM - Free to participants, by donation to the public - proceeds to benefit library programs.
For everyone - Dance to the live music of Michael Gregian and oud-player Costa Maniatakos! This performance is open to the public. Enjoy the Hafla** - with a performance and refreshments. Featured guest performers include Alia Thabit, Layla, Zahirah, Susu, Irit, Vashtia, and Christine DesMarais..

*Michael Gregian has been a professional Middle Eastern musician for 35 years. He is a master drummer and also plays clarinet, saxophone and flute. He is the leader of the Mike Gregian Mosaic Ensemble located in the Boston, MA area where they play for numerous engagements. The Mike Gregian Mosaic Ensemble also plays twice yearly in Orlando, FL for Beledi Productions “Festival on the Nile” workshops and shows.
